”3:e uppgiften”

3e uppgiften, that’s what we call our duty to do popular presentations and publications. I do not know exactly how it translates into English, but it would be something like ”the 3d duty”, suggesting that beside research and teaching we have an obligation to present our research in non-academic forums. This is often fun and rewarding, since all who listens to such presentation are there of pure interest, and usually have many questions to ask.

This evening (February 6th) I had the pleasure of presenting our work on the Neolithisation to an interested audience on Öland, in Rungården. For two hours I presented, was asked about, and discussed various aspect of how farming spread into Europe and up to Scandinavia and Öland. It was a nice evening.
